Stan (pt I)

Great excitement is flooding the Fuzzy holt today as we've just received the first holiday snaps from Stan.

Stan's currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina with his carer, Mary, and he says it's jolly hot out there.  I'm a tiny bit jealous as I'm stuck in Brighton trying to grow my winter coat to keep out the chilly wind.

The excellent picture below shows Stan soaking up some rays after an exhausting 18 hour bus journey.

He says he has sweaty fur.

Augustus sulla vacanza

And that means 'on holiday' in Italian!

Augustus is just back from a fantastic trip to Venice and his carer Skye made sure she took lots of pictures of him having lots of fun (and treats) and getting in a bit of sightseeing.

Augustus

Hello otter fans!

Please allow me to introduce you to Augustus, who has gone to live with Skye.

Skye likes to sew and it seems that she has been passing on a few tips to Augustus as he's already halfway through a patchwork Christmas stocking.  Nice work, Augustus.

 

And rather excitingly, we hear that Augustus may soon be off on holiday to a wet place that otters might really love.  Now where might that be . . . ?  Check back soon to find out.

Chabas (pt II)

I think Chabas the otter deserves the Global Otter Of The Year award.  He's clocked up an impressive number of countries and lives life to the full when he's there.

Here he is in Unawatuna Beach in Sri Lanka (I like saying Unawatuna over and over again - it's funny).

His carer Lucy says, 'Chabas loves a good cuppa & thoroughly enjoyed his guided tour around the tea plantation today, he favours Suicide Tea (black with a little whiskey) as his favourite!'


And a bit closer to his birthplace, he's doing a bit of map reading in preparation for a trip to Cornwall.

Paprika is an otter with love in his heart, and his heart held firmly between his paws.  And clearly his heart is set on escaping this dull weather and going somewhere a tad more exotic.

 Do send us a postcard if you do, Paprika.  And don't forget your board shorts.

Chabas

Nick bought Lucy a little otter for Christmas.  She named him Chabas.  Chabas has gone to live in Doha, Qatar via Abu Dhabi.  He is an international otter.

 

Chabas hanging out in the bar at Crowne Plaza Yas Island.  He looks dead chuffed.  Or is it jet-lag?

Making an appearance at the Grand Prix circuit!

I have a sneaking suspicion there will be more exotic showing off from Chabas in the days to come.

Oh, and here it is.

 

Chabas marvels at the cheap price of petrol.  (Amazing how quickly he's picked up Arabic.)

Aaahh - time for a coffee break accompanied by an otter-sized pink macaroon.  Chabas is just leaning in to ask Lucy if the squishy stuff in the middle is taramasalata and whether he can use the mug as hot tub afterwards.

 

Look how noble and proud Chabas looks as he poses 'with' the Qatari royal family.

 Enjoying the sound of the call to prayer.  Nice green light.  Are you underwater?

Hanging out with the design boys in the graphic design department.  And causing some alarm by the looks of things.

Wow, Chabas -I'm so impressed with this shot (and also that the falcon didn't eat you).

Chabas is making a big contribution to the project - by his mere presence.

The Graduate

Meet my brother Finlay.  He's a graduate!  We're not sure what he did his degree in EXACTLY.  Possibly fishing. Or lazing around.

He's a graduation gift, so I hope we get some pictures of Finlay and his new owner comparing notes on university and mackerel.
